Today I will show you how Followerwonk helps you understand the magic behind social activity and user’s behavior in Twitter. As a sample I am going to use my own Twitter account: @elgartcalago
Next to each chart, you will find links that allow you to explore specific users in each segment. You can further sort these pop-up lists of users by follower count, tweet count, and so on.
Followerwonk segment these users into a number of psychographic segments: including gender, location, Twitter activity, and more.
Sample size: 1,746 followers of @elgartcalago

Using the location field in Twitter accounts, Followerwonk try to approximate the geographic location of up to 5,000 users and map them for you. Through mapping locations enabled, we can directly target certain users from specific countries. This is an inexact procedure and so some points may be mapped incorrectly.

The age of an account is an interesting way to measure value. Users who have been on Twitter for a while are early adopters, and generally more valuable than newbies. As well, there is a higher percentage of spam accounts in newer user segments (as Twitter has not yet cleared them out).
Measure Your Own Social Authority
Actually I am overwhelmed upon seeing my social authority reaching as high as 51. There are various factors on calculating your social authority. The biggest factors are the number of followers you have, the number of days you are in Twitter and the engagement you have with your fellows on Twitter.
In this post, I only covered the most important features of Followerwonk as I don’t have enough time to document all of them. If you are curious on how you behave on Twitter then you can do your own measurements by visiting Followerwonk.com.
