Main Indications That Your Website Is Affected by the Google Penguin Updates

Traffic Loss

One of the main indicators that the site is affected by Google Penguin update is the loss of traffic. At first glimpse on Google Analytics, a huge drop of line is visible prior to that date. It is one of the best indicators that your site was affected by the algorithmic shifts. There are also a lot more indicators that are quite obvious as mentioned below.

Backlinks

backlink loss

A slight drop in backlinks can affect ranking, especially if the loss are the high quality ones. The reason behind backlink loss after the update is that Google discredited previously recognized backlinks. The kind of backlinks that has a low quality, spammy and has a higher irrelevancy factors are labeled as trash links. A good flow of high quality backlinks coming from quality and relevant site is a good factor to achieve higher rankings in Google and other major search engines.

Referring Domains

referring links

One of the main reasons for a certain drop on referring domain in the latest Google Panda and Google Penguin updates is the devaluing of Google to some of the low quality domains pointing to our site. Lots of credible sites linking to us are rejected and penalized by Google due to low quality backlinking/webspam. Backlinks and referrals are directly proportional, the more diverse our backlinks, the more referring domains we have. In order to gain referrals, a good and high quality link acquisition is a must.

Referring Anchor Phrases

anchor referrals

Anchor text targeting is not organized and has been abused. This can cause a serious problem and could lead to Google Penguin Penalization. Proper keyword density and anchor text distribution is very important to avoid future search engine penalty.

Letter to an Outdated Client

This is a post about an outdated client who wants backlink building in tier automation process. The letter goes like this.

I am a bit emotional when I'm writing this
I am sorry to get back late to you, honestly I just recently noticed your invitation. Odesk don't give a damn notification signals anymore, not like before where we can see shining red buttons with numbers above the header of our profiles.

By the way, let's talk about this project. I will go straight to the point. I am not going to recommend working with link building tools anymore. Google unleashed their link-spam-eating-beast called Penguin 1.0 and Penguin 2.0 awaiting for baits somewhere out there. They actually like SPAM!

This newly created algo can trace all kinds of footprints, even if you're with a Wizard made by our genius-looking tools, e.g, SEnuke X, Magic Submitter and ScrapeBox. I highly recommend working manually in building those Tiers with highly spunned or it would be better if we can produce original content. Much much better I mean. Trust me Dominic, I've been there and done it before.

I have been building these type of backlinks before using those tools. At first it looks great, works great in just an hour of tweaking those softwares. It can also generate quick ranking results. I admit we earn money, lots of money through it but leave our clients hanging and eventually ended up eaten by Pandas and Penguins. Actually they don't have a single idea on what is happening to their websites.

Therefore, I strongly recommend that we will done this stuff manually. I may sound like a freak but believe me, experience is the best teacher.

I am hoping for your quick response and favorable thoughts.
